Y.Y. Lin, Chairman, CEO & Founder
It’s long been a dream of mine to make a building skin that can produce energy for all of its occupants’ needs. Over the years I spent serving as President of Lindom Properties, Inc., and as Executive VP & COO of General Bank Real Estate, I tracked the solar energy industry closely. When it finally made economic sense, I was excited to launch SunGreen Systems with my colleagues to take advantage of this infinite natural resource.
I received a graduate degree from McGill University and a Masters of Urban Design degree from Harvard. I have overall 29 years of experience in real estate development and management. During this time, I’ve worked on numerous projects, including a 1500-acre master plan mixed-use community, business park, retail centers, office buildings, and single and multi-family residential projects.
I am a strong believer of community services, and therefore I spend much of my free time actively involved in the community where I live. I served as a committee member for the Pasadena Tournament of Roses and as a Community Advisory Board Director for KCET, L.A.’s public TV channel. I also served as President of both the Taiwanese-American Chamber of Commerce and the Taiwanese United Fund here in the U.S. I travel frequently to visit various conferences, clients and our suppliers. As they say, when you’re doing something you love, it doesn’t feel like work.
